OUR SIX MAIN PURPOSES

WORSHIP | Romans 12:1-2
Our first and greatest command from God is to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. Worship is not a song, it is a lifestyle lived to the Glory of God.

PRAYER | Luke 18:1
It is up to the church to pray for God’s will on the earth. It is out of time spent with God that great things for the Kingdom are accomplished. It is through prayer that God builds His Church.

FELLOWSHIP – CONNECT | 1 Corinthians 12:12
The church is a community of believers. It is a family- loving together and caring for one another. We are a body with many members; every member of the church needs the other members. God uses each of us to supply something to someone else.

DISCIPLESHIP | Matthew 28:19-20
Foundational to all that is done in the church is the Word of God. The Word of God builds and equips believers to be and to do what God desires. It is His Word that helps us remain in Him.

EVANGELISM | Mark 16:15-18, Acts 1:8
The church is called to let people know of God’s good news for the world. The church is called to heal the sick, deliver the oppressed and set the captive free. We have the answer to the world’s problems and we must share Him. The purpose of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the power to witness. All we do in worship, prayer, fellowship, and teaching is preparation for evangelism. God gave Jesus because He loves the world.

SERVANTHOOD | Matthew 20:26-28
We believe that every disciple is a minister. Each Christian is equipped by God with certain gifts and talents that are meant to be shared with the local church and with the world. To be great in God’s Kingdom we are to be the servant of all. We are to humble ourselves in ministry by selflessly sharing and giving our life in strategic service.

OUR CORE VALUES

OUR APPROACH AND MOTIVE FOR MINISTRY
HEBREWS 2:1 – Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

CHRIST AT THE CENTER
The Lordship of Jesus Christ. He must be the center of our purpose. He must be the center of our worship. He must be the center of our preaching and teaching. He must be the center of our ministry. He must be the center of our outreach. He must be the center of our relationships. He must be the center of our loving and our living. – Ephesians 1:22-23

EXTRAVAGANT FAITH
To fully believe and trust God in all we do and in all He asks us to do. That God speaks to us, gives us direction and will lead us in successful results and provision. – Hebrews 11: 1 & 6

TRANSFORMATION, NOT JUST INFORMATION
To help Christians become mature Disciples of Christ, that are compassionate and bold. To build believers into the image of Christ, so that we are a people of healing, boldness, wholeness, and righteousness. We believe in the authority of the written Word of God and indoctrinal purity. – Hebrews 4:12-16

ATMOSPHERE OF LOVE
Everyone is valuable and valued. Each person is to be treated with the same grace that Jesus abundantly expresses to us. To be a church where lifelong friends are made. Where we become a family, connected to one another and that can always enlarge our circle of love. We are committed to authentic community. – John 13:35

THE EMPOWERMENT OF THE SPIRIT
We are committed to the full supernatural equipping of the Holy Spirit to lead us in life and in ministry, realizing that apart from Him we are unable to do anything of significant eternal value. We expect the miraculous and supernatural to be a normal experience in the personal and corporate life of the church. – Acts 1:8, Luke 4:18-19, John 15:5

HEALTH, NOT JUST GROWTH
Healthy organisms grow naturally. Saved, healed, restored, and empowered servant leaders will naturally reproduce the life of God in others. – Acts 2:46-47

STEWARDSHIP
Our resources are to be used for eternal purposes. This includes our spiritual gifts, talents, abilities, time and finances. Matthew 6:20-21a
Creativity – The method not message is sacred. We should seek to use all God honoring methods to communicate the timeless message of the Word of God. – 1 Corinthians 9:22b

COMPASSIONATE MINISTRY
Reaching and touching the lives beyond the four walls of the physical church building. Meeting genuine needs or hurts to restore each person and love them to Christ. – Matthew 9:36-38, Matthew 25:40

EXCELLENCE IN MINISTRY
Everything we do should be done well and to the best of or abilities. Excellence honors God, reflects His character and inspires people. We will be accountable, pay attention to details and refuse to accept just “good enough”. – 1 Corinthians 10:31, Colossians 3:23

WHAT WE BELIEVE

These are non-negotiable tenets of faith that all Assemblies of God churches adhere to. This list is derived from the official Statement of Fundamental Truths.

WE BELIEVE… the Scriptures are Inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

WE BELIEVE… there is only One True God–revealed in three persons…Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

WE BELIEVE… in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God’s son Jesus was both human and divine.

WE BELIEVE… Though originally good, Man Willingly Fell to Sin–ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

WE BELIEVE… every Person Can Have Restored Fellowship with God Through ‘Salvation’ (trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

WE BELIEVE… and practice two ordinances—(1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one’s sins and receiving Christ’s gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation.

WE BELIEVE… the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a Special Experience Following Salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

WE BELIEVE… the Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is ‘Speaking in Tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.

WE BELIEVE… sanctification Initially Occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike.

WE BELIEVE… the Church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe ‘the Church’ is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.

WE BELIEVE… a Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, to build up or edify the body of believers–the Church and to Meet human need with ministries of love and compassion.

WE BELIEVE… divine Healing of the Sick is a Privilege for Christians Today and is provided for in Christ’s atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

WE BELIEVE… in The Blessed Hope—When Jesus Raptures His Church Prior to His Return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

WE BELIEVE… in The Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.

WE BELIEVE… a Final Judgment Will Take Place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire.

WE BELIEVE… and look forward to the perfect New Heavens and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. ‘And so shall we forever be with the Lord!’
